The federal Affordable Care Act will be put to a microscope by the state Senate’s health and insurance committees, with a hearing Monday to focus on New York’s health exchange and implementation of the law.
The hearing, which kicked off around 10:15 a.m., will be led by Donna Frescatore, executive director of the state’s health exchange, known as New York State of Health.
“When it comes to the exchange, I think New York is doing a good job when compared with the federal government,” said Senate Insurance Committee Chairman James Seward, R-Milford, Otsego County.
He continued: “With that said, there are a number of issues that have come to my attention that warrant further discussion.”
