Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino has already traveled to the westernmost part of New York as he weighs a run for governor this year.
Now, he’ll head east.
Suffolk County Republican Chairman John LaValle will host a political fundraiser on Long Island for Astorino on Jan. 11, according to an invitation sent out by the state GOP earlier this afternoon. Tickets for the wine tasting start at $250, while $1,000 will get you the title of “gold sponsor.”
The fundraiser will take place at Lieb Cellars in Cutchogue, Suffolk County.
The eastern swing is the latest in a series of events held for or by Astorino, a Republican, as he mulls a 2014 run, just days after he started his second term as county executive.
He was in Buffalo in December for a holiday reception of the Erie County GOP, where he met with county leaders from western New York. Astorino swung through upstate New York on a fundraising swing for his re-election campaign in 2013, stopping in Buffalo and Syracuse.
In November, he huddled with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at the Republican Governors Association gathering in Arizona. Christie is the current head of the group.
And in February, he’ll attend a fundraiser for the Bronx GOP.
