Say what you want about Donald Trump. In his pre-emptive defense against a lawsuit filed against him by state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, you can’t say he’s not direct.
“This website was created to bring to the public’s attention the gross incompetence of New York State Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman,” a website created by Trump on Friday reads.
Schneiderman filed suit against Trump on Saturday, claiming “Trump University”—the real estate mogul’s for-profit, non-licensed educational institute—amounted to little more than a fraud.
Trump tried to push back before Schneiderman got the chance to file the lawsuit, launching 98percentapproval.com on Friday and filling it with articles critical of the first-term attorney general. (Check out the screen grab from the website above.)
“You have heard the allegations, now see the facts, see the evidence and make your own judgment about how your hard earned tax dollars are being wasted,” the website reads.
In a statement, Schneiderman faulted Trump for bilking students.
“More than 5,000 people across the country who paid Donald Trump $40 million to teach them his hard sell tactics got a hard lesson in bait-and-switch,” Schneiderman said.
