The fate of professional mixed martial arts again rests with the state Assembly this year after the Senate passed a bill Wednesday that would legalize, regulate and tax the sport in New York.
It’s fate in the Assembly, of course, is uncertain. While Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, D-Manhattan, said he believes the MMA ban will be lifted someday, he said he didn’t know when that day may come.
