“If you go to SUNY—S-U-N-Y—let me hear you screamin’ with your hands up high.”
So starts the State University of New York’s new rap anthem—Yes, rap anthem—which was officially released on Wednesday.
The song and accompanying music video, performed by burgeoning hip-hop artist and University at Albany alumnus B. Martin, prominently features scenes from across the SUNY system with frequent shout outs to all corners of the state. (“Hudson Valley—what up, y’all?”)
You may recall that the video was first shown prior to SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher’s “State of the University” address in January. Our Jessica Bakeman posted a bootleg copy a while back; the high-resolution version was posted today.
