Lt Gov. Robert Duffy has lived in Rochester his whole life. He’s staying there, but downsizing and selling his Browncroft neighborhood home.

[1]The governor’s office confirmed today that the former Rochester mayor and police chief is selling the house where he raised his family and is looking for smaller digs in the city. Duffy, 58, is married and has two grown daughters.

WHAM-TV’s Rachel Barnhart tweeted [2] this morning that Duffy’s house appeared to be for sale.

Duffy, the city’s mayor from 2006 through 2010, travels the state as lieutenant governor and has an apartment in Albany, which he funds through his campaign cash. [3]

Duffy has long been among Rochester’s biggest boosters, as mayor and in his role as second-in-command in state government.

He has argued that he has been able to do more for Rochester as lieutenant governor than as mayor.
