Members of the State Police and the state Division of Criminal Justice Services are visiting parts of upstate tomorrow to address the NY-SAFE Act, the new gun-control law passed Jan. 15.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo has come under criticism for the new law, which enacts the toughest assault-weapons ban in the nation and limits the number of bullets in a magazine to seven.
As he has done with his other major initiatives, Cuomo will send out his aides to build public support for the new law. A Siena College poll earlier this month showed wide support for the tougher gun-control measures, but gun owners, particularly upstate, have knocked the law as infringing on Second Amendment rights.
Cuomo’s office said the events are not to promote the gun law, but to simply answer questions about it from the public.
Here’s where Cuomo’s aides are headed:

•So , Now the State Propaganda Teams will come out and try getting support for this illegal midnight Law ? It’s not going to work ..The Liberals/Democrats and uninformed public are the only ones gloating over finally “defeating” the great Evil NRA (those money making capitalists) and showing the NY Gun Owners how fast our rights can be taken away .
We will not give up ...this is far from over.
•Sandy Hook gave Albany the excuse they’ve been waiting for … after losing so many gun control decisions lately , they refused to let common sense and public opinion to get in their way.
You can enjoy it, for now …but when the party’s over , you should read up on how prohibition worked out.
Then think about the Millions of unregistered Rifles/Shotguns/Pistols with Hi-Capacity Mags that will now be worth a fortune on the Black Market.
They were safer in Law abiding Citizens hands ..but , that’s history now.
And how is Gov Cuomo going to stop it ? By offering someone $200 for an AR15 they can sell for $2,000 on the Black Market ?—good luck with that.
They’ll come in from small towns and cities across the State (and many from out of State) ..and all end up on City Streets across NY . Why the Cities you ask ?
The major Drug Dealers/Gangs & Criminals are all there , and they can afford to pay top dollar ..and soon they’ll have the latest in Hi-tech Assault Weapons to chose from.
Cuomo did away with the Grandfather Clause that allowed us to keep the Hi-Cap magazines we legally owned. They were safer with us ..BUT ..the State is now mandating that we sell them out of State. ..(.really think those will go away overnight as well?)
NY has no idea what people own so , imagine how many of those Magazines will also end up on the Streets ,with those Criminals.
And you were all so paranoid about the NRA & “Gun Nuts” because you had nothing else to blame , no understanding of Firearms or Laws already in force ..so you target us ?
Albany better wake up, repeal this Assault Weapons Ban and reinstate the Grandfather clause for hi Capacity Magazines that were legally owned.
REPEAL THIS LAW and find some other cause to Champion , one that doesn’t involve forcing your beliefs/agenda and paranoia on another American’s way of Life or infringing on their 2nd Amendment rights.
