The Second Amendment might be a tourism industry for Texas, or at least if the Texas attorney general has anything to do with it.

[1]Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott is running ads in New York City and Albany to promote Texas and knock New York’s new gun laws, the New York Times reported. [2]

“Here in Texas, you will have the liberty and the opportunity to achieve your dreams. On top of that, we have no income tax, yet still manage to have a multi-billion dollar budget surplus,” Abbott says on his Facebook page.

“We have right to work laws and a reasonable regulatory environment. Texas has created more than 275,000 jobs in the last year alone! And we’ll fight like hell to protect your rights. You’ll also get to keep more of what you earn and use some of that extra money to buy more ammo.

I hope to see you soon in Texas. In the meantime, sign up to show your support for our second amendment rights.

About 2,000 protestors at the Capitol on Saturday [3] criticized the decision by the state Legislature and Gov. Andrew Cuomo last Tuesday to enact the toughest gun-control laws in the nation.

Cuomo has hailed the decision [4] as a way to save lives and curb the gun violence in New York and the nation.

On his Twitter account today, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman was unmoved by the Texas attorney general’s effort.

“With all due respect to my colleague: thanks but no thanks,” Schneiderman wrote. [5]
