Here’s Sen. Greg Ball’s comments on the Senate floor Monday night as the Senate debated the gun-control bill that was passed by the Legislature and signed yesterday by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
“We haven’t saved any lives tonight, except for one — the political life of a governor who wants to be president,” Ball said.
Ball was one of only two Republicans to speak on the Senate floor about the proposal. The other was freshman Sen. Kathy Marchione, R-Saratoga, who also expressed concerns about the bill.
The bill passed 43-18 — with all Democrats voting for it.
“I voted no and I only wish I could have done it twice,” Ball concluded.
