NY’s Fracking Comment Period Begins Today

Can’t wait to weigh in on New York’s latest proposed regulations for hydrofracking? Wait no longer.
A 30-day public-comment period officially began today [1]. It will close Jan. 11 at 5 p.m.
The state Department of Environmental Conservation late last month issued a new set of proposals for regulating shale-gas drilling, a legal maneuver that bought the agency another 90 days to finalize their rules. The state now faces a late February deadline for completing the regulations.
The DEC is accepting comments online and through mail. You can submit online comments here [2], while paper submissions can be sent to:
Attn: Draft HVHF Regulations Comments
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation
625 Broadway
Albany, NY 12233-6510
For reference, the DEC’s proposed rules can be found here [3].
