The Powerball jackpot grew to $550 million today as sales across the country soar. New York is now different: Sales rose 15 percent on Tuesday, according to the state Lottery.
The drawing is tonight.
According to the state Lottery, sales grew from $86 million to nearly $99 million between Monday and Tuesday. That equates to $5 per person in New York.
