The Anti-Defamation League recognized the chairman of Price Chopper and his wife for their commitment to education and peace, Gannett’s Haley Viccaro reports.

[1]Jane and Neil Golub, the supermarket chain’s retired CEO, were awarded the Americanism Award on Nov. 15 and honored for their implementation of anti-bullying and anti-bias programs through ADL’s A World of a Difference workshops in Albany schools.

“The Golubs are making the world a more respectful place in which to live, work and play, and because of their commitment, we have been able to train more than ten thousand teachers in New York State, equipping them to take these issues into the classroom,” said ADL National Director Abraham Foxman said in a statement.

Jane Golub is a teacher and established a team of writers to create curriculum for elementary, middle and high schools to aid in the development of Anti-Bias study guides.

She also created free professional development training to every school in the ten-county Capital Region.
