It’s Election Day(!!!) and political campaigns in New York are now required to disclose any last-minute contributions of $1,000 or more within 24 hours of when they’re received.

Here’s a sampling of the latest:

– Among the most-active advocacy groups pouring last-minute money into state-level political campaigns? Medical organizations.

The Medical Society of New York State, whose PAC made three contributions worth a total of $42,000 on Monday, while the Healthcare Association of New York State contributed $50,000 to Assembly Democrats.

The Medical Society, which represents the state’s physicians and medical residents, contributed $20,000 each to Senate Republicans and Assembly Democrats. Both of the conferences control the majority in their respective chambers.

Another $2,000 contribution went to the campaign of Sen. Thomas Libous, a Binghamton Republican that heads the Senate GOP’s re-election efforts. The Medical Society previously donated about $19,675 on Sept. 11—Primary Day.

– Speaking of Senate Republicans and Assembly Democrats, both reported significant late hauls Monday.

The Assembly Democrats’ campaign committee reported a total intake of $160,000, including the $20,000 from the Medical Society and $50,000 from the Healthcare Association. Among the other major donors were the Seneca Nation of Indians ($25,000) and the New York State Troopers PAC ($17,500.)
