Thirty-four SUNY campuses were recognized by a national military publication as being “military friendly.”
“The SUNY system is a recognized leader in assisting military personnel in the transition to civilian life after their service to our country,” Zimpher said in a statement. “As the largest system of public higher education in the country, SUNY offers extensive educational and career opportunities in more than 7,500 degree and certificate programs in every community in New York state. We take great pride in the fact that so many of our returning service men and women turn to SUNY for their education, and thank G.I. Jobs Magazine for this recognition.”
The 33 SUNY campuses listed include: University at Albany, Binghamton University, SUNY Brockport, Broome County Community College, Buffalo State College, Corning Community College, Monroe Community College, Niagara County Community College, Rockland Community College, Tompkins-Cortland Community College and SUNY Ulster.
G.I. Jobs’ 2013 list is its fourth. Magazine staff compile the list of military-friendly colleges through data-driven research on the schools approved by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
