Democratic Senate candidate George Latimer is blaming his Republican opponent, Bob Cohen, for the $50 million cost of Thursday’s state primaries.
Latimer’s press release doesn’t mention Cohen by name, but an accompanying flyer does.
“Candidates all over New York are exclaiming their commitment to tax and mandate relief but are willing to sit idly by while legislative leaders waste sums of taxpayer money
for unknown reasons,” Latimer, an assemblyman, said in a news release.
Latimer and Cohen are battling for the seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Suzi Oppenheimer, D-Mamaroneck, Westchester County. The seat is one of the most contested ones in the state.
