As media speculation continues to rampantly swirl around New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and whatever presidential aspirations he may hold, former New York Gov. George Pataki has a message for the tough-talking Republican: Run!
Pataki, who himself flirted with throwing his hat into the 2012 Republican primary before deciding against it, said the country needs a “straight shooter and a proven leader” like the New Jersey governor.
“America is in a crisis, and none of the current candidates or the President has leveled with American public about what needs to be done to rescue our future,” Pataki said in a statement. “This country needs a straight shooter and a proven leader. I urge Governor Chris Christie to run for President to fill the void and lead America forward.”
Christie, for what it’s worth, has said repeatedly that he does not have any intention to run for president, though stories, though stories have continued to pop up saying that the first-term governor may be rethinking that.
