Republican Carl Paladino’s campaign is reporting that he raised $1.7 million for his gubernatorial effort.
Of that, $1.65 million came from his own bank account. Paladino’s disclosure information was posted this afternoon and shows he has about $52,000 in cash on hand.
The Buffalo businessman, who has said he would use $10 million of his own money for the campaign, is competing against Rick Lazio for the gubernatorial nomination. Paladino is submitting 28,000 signatures of registered Republicans to the state Board of Elections for his petition drive to gain a spot on the primary ballot.
