Assemblyman Greg Ball, R-Patterson, Putnam County, posted a campaign commercial on YouTube late last week and his facebook page today that highlights his tough stance on illegal immigration.
Ball is running for the Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Vincent Leibell, R-Patterson, Putnam County.
In the video, Ball stands outside of a sport utility vehicle, filming people who appear to be day laborers.
“Folks, illegal immigration is illegal and something must be done and I’m doing it,” Ball said.
He highlights his co-sponsorship of a bill that would deport “criminal illegal immigrants” and his opposition to then-Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s plan to provide driver licenses to illegal immigrants.
He urges voters to go his website, hirelegally.com, and sign a petition calling for greater enforcement of the hiring laws.
“Let’s crack down on this black market economy,” Ball said.
