Golisano’s Infomercial
Here’s the Tom Golisano infomercial that he bought on Gannett’s Buffalo TV station WGRZ, which cost him about $100,000.
The first half of the video focuses on Golisano’s career: Paychex Inc., the ownership of the Buffalo Sabres, his charitable donations.
The second half focuses on politics, with Golisano saying his next focus will be on the state Assembly, after he helped orchestra the June 8 coup in the state Senate.
“Sheldon Silver has been the Speaker of the Assembly for 16 years. And quite candidly, even if Sheldon has done a decent job, 16 years is far too long in a democracy, we need some new leadership there and we’re going to try and encourage it there,” Golisano said.
Golisano also defended the Senate coup, which he said led to legislative reforms.
“When you weigh that financial cost against these reforms and their importance, and to have some resemblance of democracy happening in Albany, I mean it was well worth it,” he said.
