While the powers that be in Albany continue to cause a stalemate in the State's business I would hope that when they do get back to work they convince our non-elected Governor that the .34 per $100 of salary of all emplyees for all businesses, non-profits, schools, and churches is very unfair to Dutchess County. Only approximately 6k people out of 330K residents commute to NYC. Also, why isn't Ulster County included in the counties that have been elected to bail out the MTA? There are MTA employees who live in Ulster county and who travel over the Mid-Hudson Bridge everyday to catch a Metro-North train to work AND they and their family members ride the trains FREE!!! That is a perk that should be taken away immediately. Why should my tax dollar be used for their free transportation and for the transportation of Dutchess County residents who choose to commute to NYC for better wages?? Makes no sense to me!!
