Here’s a clip of First Lady Michelle Paige Paterson talking about her efforts to promote healthy lifestyles, particularly in children, on New York Now, which will be begin airing tonight on PBS stations across the state.
The first lady has been touring the state in recent days to promote “Healthy Steps to Albany: First Lady’s Challenge,” to encourage kids to be more active through a six-week fitness program aimed at middle-school students.
She says people “don’t understand that this is an epidemic. This is the first generation of kids who may not outlive their parents. It is a major problem.”
New York Now airs in Rochester on WXXI on Sundays at 6:30pm and in the Hudson Valley/NYC area on WNET at 1pm. It airs tonight on WMHT in the Albany area at 7:30 p.m
