Voters Want Millionaires’ Tax

The Siena Poll also asked voters about the state’s budget woes, with 78 percent supporting a personal income tax increase on those making more than $1 million.

Also, 61 percent support an increase on those making more than $250,000. Only 22 percent support cuts to education.

“Unlike the governor, voters strongly support taxing the rich. Two-thirds of Democrats, and a slim Republican majority support increasing the income tax on those making more than $250,000, and more than two-thirds of Republicans support an income tax increase on million dollar earners,” Siena poll spokesman Steven Greenberg said.
