CNN projects that Barack Obama will win Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Washington. NBC News projected that he had won Pennsylvania’s 21 electoral votes.

CNN says John McCain will win Oklahoma, South Carolina and Tennessee. And NBC projects he won Georgia and Alabama, but that North Carolina Sen. Elizabeth Dole will lose to Democrat Kay Hagan, a state senator, another bad sign for McCain.

And Natalie Portman, left, was making calls in NYC tonight for Obama.
