The campaign filings for state legislative races and here’s how it’s looking in Senate races:
—The Senate Democratic Campaign Committee raised $942,682, spent $223,123 and has nearly $1.3 million on hand. The Republican filings are not in yet.
—37th District: Democratic Sen. Suzi Oppenheimer, D-Mamaroneck, raised $22,422, spent $16,119 and had $75,139 on hand. As we reported yesterday, that’s well behind her Republican challenger Liz Feld who raised $308,490, spent $280,720 and had $70,450 on hand. About half of what Feld raised, though, came from the GOP committee.
—51st District: Sen. James Seward, R-Milford, Otsego County raised $99,332, spent $129,040 and had $460,851 on hand. Don Barber, his Democratic challenger, raised $57,929, spent $98,268 and had $79,798 on hand.
—55th District: Sen. James Alesi, R-Perinton, Monroe County raised $325,563, spent $127,093 and had $706,514 on hand. That’s much better than his Democratic opponent David Nachbar, who spent more than he raised—raised $111,931; spent $255,479—leaving him with $78,698 in his coffers. Yet as Nachbar’s campaign just pointed out, about $100,000 of Alesi money came from Senate Republicans.
—56th District: Sen. Joseph Robach, R-Greece, Monroe County, raised $326,486, spent $427,125 and had $169,409 on hand. Yet Richard Dollinger, his Democratic challenger, raised more, $444,005, and spent almost as much—$415,521—and still has $176,142 on hand, a little more than Robach. Dollinger has also been boosted by Senate Democrats.
—58th District: Sen. Bill Stachowski, D-Buffalo, raised$93,742, spent$71,079and had $69,941
on hand. Dennis Delano, his Republican challenger, had more, thanks to the Republican Senate Committee, spent more—$228,609—yet had $32,801 left.
—61st District: Joe Mesi, Democratic candidate, raised $140,250, spent $97,044 and had $52,042 on hand. Republican candidate Mike Ranzenhofer raised $67,743, spent $106,299 and had $146,746 on hand.
