NY Dems: When Is Kuhl Going To Debate

September
8

New York state Democrats are getting into the Kuhl-Massa debate over debates.

The party knocked Kuhl today for apparently ignoring 10 invitations from local media outlets and community groups to debate. (Here they are, left, debating in their first race in 2006.)

“Congressman Kuhl’s refusal to debate sends a clear message – he’s not interested in talking about the issues that matter most to voters in the 29th District,” said Carly Lindauer, state Democratic Party spokeswoman. “New Yorkers are struggling with the soaring cost of food, energy and healthcare. They deserve more than a typical Washington politician like Randy Kuhl who is too busy to listen to them.”

Kuhl spokesman Justin Stokes said Kuhl has said all along that “we look forward to debating Mr. Massa this fall.”

He said the campaign was working with Kuhl’s schedule to figure out a debate schedule, but said the number of debates hasn’t been determined.

If you recall, Massa ambushed Kuhl at an event last month and called on them to debate. The dust up even got Massa’s father into the debate over debates.
