Jonathan Smith, a Democrat who is challenging Assembly Republican incumbent JoelÂ
Miller, in the 102 District, which covers Poughkeepsie, received the endorsement today of the Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Kennedy, right, who heads the environmental group Waterkeeper Alliance, said he’s backing Smith because “he is running a campaign that focuses on creating jobs and reducing New York’s reliance on foreign oil through new green energy technologies like solar, wind and geothermal,” Smith’s campaign said in a statement.
Smith, left, has also got the backing of the Citizen Action of New York.
Smith is challenging Miller in a district with just 2,000 more Republicans than Democrats.
Here’s Smith talking about energy alternatives for the Hudson Valley.
