Former Gov. Eliot Spitzer has been telling friends that in some ways he is “relieved’’ that he’s now out of office.
“I was never happy as governor. I couldn’t get anything done,’’ one friend quoted him as saying. “In some ways I’m relieved’’ to be out of office.
Spitzer added that he realizes that he has no excuse for his conduct. He resigned on March 17 after his patronizing of a prostitute became public. Prosecutors haven’t announced whether they intend to prosecute him.
Spitzer is now working in his father’s Manhattan-based real-estate business, Spitzer Enterprises.

Hmm… will you tell Eliot Spitzer, next you see him, that we’re relieved, too?
