The Cook Political Report downgraded 10 Republican seats in the U.S. House today, including Rep. Randy Kuhl’s seat in the 29th Congressional District, which runs from the Rochester suburbs through the Southern Tier.
The Cook report moved the race from “Lean Republican To Toss Up.”
Kuhl, R-Hammondsport, Steuben County, won in his first two elections, in 2004 and 2006, but won narrowly in 2006 against Democrat Eric Massa, who is challenging Kuhl again this year.
Late Wednesday, Massa challenged Kuhl in an open letter to hold a series of town-hall meetings and debates around the district.
No word yet from Kuhl on whether he’ll go along.
