The state Democratic Party’s co-chairman, Dave Pollack, announced today that he is resigning from the post. He will continue working with the party as its new voter outreach director. Co-Chairwoman June O’Neill will be the sole chair of the state party.
“It’s been an honor to be part of building a strong Democratic Party in New York and I’m excited to continue to play a role in recruiting new Democrats to our party,” Pollack said in a statement. “I am excited about (Gov.) David Paterson’s leadership and his vision for New York and am looking forward to working with a growing community of grassroots and online activists to engage them in our party.”
Paterson thanked Pollak for his service, saying he “has been a key player in our effort to build a stronger Democratic Party in New York and across the country.”
