Giuliani Out; NY GOP Backs McCain

Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno said this morning that he spoke with Rudy Giuliani and that he will leave the presidential race this afternoon and back John McCain.
Also, the state Republican Party held a conference call this morning with its county chairs and voted unanimously to back McCain, according to some chairmen.
“Everyone who spoke agreed he was the best candidate for the party,” said Schenectady County Chairman Thomas Buchanan.
Bruno said in a statement that “I spoke with Rudy Giuliani this morning and he confirmed that he is dropping out of the race and will endorse Senator John McCain for president.”
Bruno said he also spoke with McCain, who was seeking his support. Bruno said McCain is “a proven leader with an outstanding record in the U.S. Senate and as a war hero. He has the experience our nation needs in these uncertain times as we continue the war on terror abroad and seek to steady our economy at home.”
Republicans this morning said they expect McCain can do well in New York and be competitive against either Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. McCain, Republicans think, will attract independent voters and help draw voters to the polls as Republicans try to retain control of the state Senate and win or retain upstate congressional seats.

Surprise, Surprise NY State GOP, Media & Rudy Kool aid Drinkers…...
The New York State Republican Leadership deserves all that came to them last night. The NY GOP clearly has been forewarned about this Rudy demise. Rudy in the eyes of true GOP Americans cannot ever win over this National Party.
As I told New York Political Reporters, Couple of TV Commentators and MANY Inside the New York State GOP….....As well as many on this blog and others across this State since last summer…..
Rudy will NOT be the Candidate of the Republican National Party, this whole plan was flawed…. National Base Vote will never go to a Liberal on many issues Rudy had on record. Further, I am on the record since summer that their was serious doubt that Rudy can even win his own State of New York.
I have never met a more “Incompetent Group of Political Strategists” as those in the NY State GOP who really thought Rudy was going to be our next GOP nominee.
1 – NY Transplant voters are NOT Republican, they are Democrats….
2 – Rudy has also received the endorsements in the past years of the Abortion Industry Organizations such as (Planned Parenthood, & NARAL) .....Many Pro-Gay Rights groups and organizations…...
And from many of the Anti-Second Amendment groups.
This is not New York politics, this is National Politics, two different animals.
NY State GOP should have kept the field “Open� for all leaders to discuss, interview each candidate, etc…(Morale purposes & Unity as a Party)
But, no….
A group of so called leaders, comes out for “Rudy for President� like “Tigers at Dinner� in their NY State GOP Press Releases…GOP even changing the Primary rules to benefit Rudy of winner take all in delegates.
Just as the NY GOP tried to shove Liberal Weld (Gov) & Pirro & Howard Mills (US Senate) down the throats of the State County Chairs, the GOP has failed again. As many of the GOP Chairs are Conservative and bank on these issues of importance to maintain their Party grass roots.
The NY State GOP once again, will have egg on their face this morning. There will be nothing new about the NY State GOP other the MORE embarrassment.
(BTW…Sean Hannity, Dick Morris, Roger Stone are still waiting for Jean Pirro & Bill Weld to run for Statewide office from last year…....
Further, Sean Hannity & George Will is still crowning Rudy as our next President of these United States)
