| One parlor game for Albany insiders listening to today’s State of Upstate speech from Gov. Eliot Spitzer: how many legislators would be mention by name.
Answer: 27 according to an informal count. More Democrats than Republicans, but still plenty of kodos for members of the opposite party.  Spitzer is trying to regain some political support after a disastrous year of hard-ball politics last year. The Republican-led Senate is investigating whether he lied about what he knew regarding activities of his staff to use the State Police to try to discredit Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno.    Bruno didn’t make the trip to Buffalo to attend Spitzer’s speech. His wife, Barbara, died on Jan. 7 |
