Presidential Filings Coming In

December
7

Rudy Giuliani’s campaign filed his paperwork in Albany today to get on the Feb. 5 presidential ballot in New York. Filing the paperwork was Giuliani’s state chairman Bill Powers, the former state GOP chairman, and current state GOP chairman Joseph Mondello.

To get on the ballot, Republicans can file 5,000 signatures from Republican voters, show that they will qualify for federal matching or show they have national name-recognition. Giuliani did the latter.

Democrats, meanwhile, had to file petition signatures by last Thursday, though the petitions can be postmarked by Dec. 5, according to the state Board of Elections.

Here’s who has filed so far:

Republicans—John McCain, Thomas Tancredo, Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee. Elections officials said they’ve yet to get anything from Alan Keyes or Duncan Hunter.

Democrats—Hillary Clinton, Joseph Biden, John Edwards, Dennis Kucinich, Barack Obama and Bill Richardson.

You can view the Democrats filings and delegates here.

The elections board has yet to post the Republicans’ filings.
